The Power of Peer Mentoring
AMP! (Adult Mentor Program) is Connecticut’s only community-based peer mentoring program for adult survivors.
We pair every participant with two dedicated Mentors — one with Lived Experience and one Expert Ally —who walk alongside them from crisis, to stabilization, and toward long-term independence.
Our Mentors build trusted relationships, stay in regular contact, and celebrate every step of progress. They provide practical support like:
One-on-one guidance & encouragement
Case management and system navigation
Housing assistance, including placement and short-term financial support
Goal-setting and empowerment to reach self-sufficiency
The heart of AMP! is our peer-ally model, which recognizes how life-changing it is to have someone who truly understands your journey. This approach leads to stronger trust, higher disclosure rates, and better long-term outcomes — key to preventing re-exploitation and supporting lasting freedom.
